Gwadar port & old city area ...

where are the pictures of the sky scrapers, hotels, fly overs, 5* residential housing estates etc? Haven't they been built yet?

Bro .. If you see Post 11 & 12 you will observe the main port building & the PC build on top of the mountain.

I did not see any building but there were loads of very nice villas .. they call it New Town or New Gwadar. That's the area which is developped. Mind you before 10 years over here there was no road. The road which is leading to Gwadar from Lasbella, Ormara, Makran coastal highway was nothing .. but today it is on special crush material with prestressed bridges everywhere ..

During my visit from Gwadar to Dasht .. You will see in my earlier posts some bridge columns .. there were many unfinished pile caps too .. the abutments are already done but the in between bridges could not be finished because the contract ran away due to non-payment .. all this was during Musharaff / Shaukat Aziz era .. they have never seen development of this level ... but now all has stopped .. They accept that things has been done but would still give votes to their own people.

Earlier there was a huge rush but now things have cooled down and not much is happening on the economic front.

Thanks brother must7. I can see that work in Gwadar is progressing, the port , the roads and infrastructure look impressive but still it's not quite Dubai yet. Pakistan gov should channel more funds and speed things up a bit. I think the gov should start by building warehouses and factories, then housing and commercial areas etc.

Well Karachi and Islamabad weren't built in a day so Gwadar will take a few more years.

Wow slow down buddy. We dont need all that crap, Gwadar is looking great the way it is, and i shud concratz the people who developped it for perserving all the natural beauty.

Bro .. sorry I don't agree with this .. we should have private enterpreneurs to come out and do business otherwise govt. arranged things are full of "preferred people".

I would be happy when big names in Pakistan start operating fully in Gwadar.
