Khalistan struggle is dead. It only exists on the internet. The Sikhs for all the tales of valour and bravery have chickened out. The Brahiminical leadership played a masterstroke by making Manmohan Singh the Prime Minister of India. That proved to be last straw and won over a lot of Sikhs.

dont forget the favour Benazir did to the sikhs by giving up their leaders names to the indian intelligence, wonder how much money she got for that?

What happened during partition was more of British design due to timing and boundary decisions. Sikhs behaved like animals too but it was expected. may be on lesser scale, but similar lootings happened in our Punjab too.
If you remove police and other law enforcement agencies from any part of Pakistan today, many people will start looting and killing each other.
we saw this in Iraq when people killed eachothers and looted govt offices, museums etc, after dispersal of Saddam's forces.

everyone has birth right of independence from a mean master.
I would prefer Khalistan on east border. I don't think Khalistan will be as bad as India for Pakistan.

Actually, that was Sonia Gandhi's decision and she happens to be a Roman Catholic Christian.

As for why the Khalistan movement is dead today.

1. Punjab is the most affluent state in India and Sikhs are the most well off community today.

2. Most of the bloodshed happened in 1984, more than 25 years ago. Half of today's population wasn't even born then. Like the Partition its gradually being forgotten.

actually time is a double edged sword. generation who didn't see bloodshed of 25 years ago should have no fear of hindu, but they have inherited hate for indian rule.

Khalistan is dead guys. It just remains as the recreational activity of expat oldtimers.

Sikhs hate Pakistan more than India, inspite of all the atrocities and storming of their Golden temple they still make a significant portion the Indian army.

I have sikh friends (lots) and I can tell you that:

It is true that Sikhs hate muslims because a majority of their Gurus were killed by the muslim rulers.

It is also true that Sikhs have not forgetten the promise Nehru made to them at the time of partition of Khalistan.

It is also true that Sikhs have not forgetten what happenned at Golden Temple.

It is also true that Sikhs have not forgetten how 10,000 sikhs including women and children were all lined up and shot dead.

It is also true that Khalistan movement recieved a great blow thanks to the backbiting of Benazir bhutto but anyone who thinks it is dead is living in a fool's land.

and I never consider Sikhs as Indians. Sikhs are totally different people.
Saeed Khan
All the sikhs don't seemed to be impressed by the Chankiya's 'master stroke;' laugh.gif that is, 'appointment' of a Sikh Prime Minister or Chief of Army Staff, Air Force, etc.

According to the Hindu Cast System; as enshrined in the holiest Hindu Scriptures called Vedas, Sikhs and other minorities in India are 5th Class citizens. Self delusion will achieve absolutely nothing; except assimilation and becoming ‘Hinduised’ version of Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, etc.

Alarm over pro-Khalistan posters in Delhi:

New Delhi, Saturday, February 06, 2010: A sudden emergence of pro-Khalistan posters at the national capital’s famous Gurudwara Bangla Sahib caused an alarm on Saturday, with both the Congress as well as the BJP expressing concern.

The Delhi Police immediately removed the posters from the entrance wall of the gurudwara, following a complaint that the posters called for pro-Khalistan supporters to congregate at Gurudwara Fatehgarh Sahib in Punjab on February 12 – the birth anniversary of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale who started the Khalistan movement demanding a separate independent nation.

Bhindranwale died in Operation Blue Star in 1984.

What raised eyebrows was a call in the posters for supporters to complete ‘the unfinished task’ – apparently the creation of a separate nation.

Sources said the posters were apparently put up at the behest of SAD (Amritsar) president Simranjit Singh Mann.

Reacting to the development, BJP’s Rajiv Pratap Rudy said it was a “matter of concern and that the Central government should take action again separatist powers” trying to raise their heads again.

Nobody can deny that Khalistan has quite a bit of support in the Sikh communities of Canada and the US, especially among second and third generation Sikhs.

But the movement is (for all practical purposes) dead in Punjab. Pro-Khalistan rallies in India have become washed out affairs with a small and dwindling number of people participating.
Pak_Afaz
Im also of the opinion that Khalistan movement is dead. In recent years, India has succeded in intregrating the Sikhs into its society. Now, the Sikhs gets the same treatment as the black gets in the US.

let us start helping the sikhs organize. there is an opportunity here and it should be utilized. if we can get a few hundred sikhs from abroad to go back and start the new phase of the babbar khalsa then we should definitely do it.

one thing i can tell you is, the sikhs program their youth VERY well. doesn't matter if they're watching some bollywood flick, the fact remains that they are programmed to think in a certain way. they are conflicted about their attitude and beliefs towards bhindia. we need to not only help the sikhs but help the freedom struggle in every state. we can achieve this by infiltrating the BJP, RSS and the like and making them more extreme and turn them against each other.

You sound like a British officer on a mission to destroy a nation. A good human shud never kill peace (Dont forget peace means Islam). Sikhs are very much happy in India, and today both hindus and sikhs are living in peace. Im not throwing flowers on India, all im saying is that we shud not be instigating violence. It is for the Sikhs to ask our help, wich we shud provide if ever needed, but judging at the current situation that will not be necesary.

on the serious note at least one of the guru i think arjun dev was killed or to be precise made to commit suicide by drowning himself in Ravi river by some Chandu shah the brahmin minister of governor of Lahore. The reason was huge social change in society of Punjab by Mian Mir and the Sikh guru,s which almost ended Brahmin dominance in Punjabi society.chandu shah was later killed on the orders of mughal empror

When we started showing truth about "Shining India" back in 2006, people found it hard to believe, but today everyone knows the truth. even Indians are making movies like Slumdog millionaire to make money by displaying rotten side of "Shining India". check google or youtube and see yourself.

reporting, prediction and events have a mysterious interdependency, and you will understand the delicate connection with time. No metaphysics involved, just pure social science which is not taught in schools.

I predict Khalistan as future of east punjab. this thread is to discuss facts (and may be events if they take shape any soon). wait and see.

Unlike in the past, the central government does not intercede in state affairs except in where there is a serious threat to law and order and the state government doesn't have the resources or resolve to handle it.

With regard to the state government taking action; the chief minister is a Sikh as are a majority of his minister. The entire saga of demonstrators being picked up by security agencies is in the past.

Khalistan is over. Today's generation wasn't exposed to the events of yesteryear and have other priorities today. Even Khalistani leaders who'd fled to the west were dismayed by the lack of support they found, when they were permitted to return to India.

Sikhs are a minority in East Punjab, large numbers of their men serve in the armed forces and there is hardly an utter of Khalistan in India from the Sikhs. I think this episode belongs in the history books….

Let’s concentrate on Kashmir and the very real problem we have.
Saeed Khan
Nehru once said that let first India gain its freedom and then we will see who else dares demand the same rights. I guess, they all can now conveniently be lumped together as 'terrorists.' laugh.gif

The non-violent movement of Gandhi succeeded brilliantly since there were about 300 Million Indians facing few thousand British. When the tables turned and Sikhs, Kashmiris, etc. demanded their rights; we all know what happened. Another tragedy is unfolding in Eastern part of India as well.

The current struggle (1984 - Present):

" ... the Indian Government has been the major cause of bloodshed in the state (Punjab) ... " New York Times, Sept.16, 1985

"Indian Government is accused of inhuman barbarities against the people of Punjab." Justice V M Tarkunde, Bombay High Court

A member of the Indian government's "Red Brigade" confessed to State-sponsored terrorism against the Sikhs. The Ottawa Citizen, Feb. 12, 1989

After the military attack on Darbar Sahib Amritsar, and the Martyrdom of Baba Jarnail Singh Khalsa, Bhindranwale, the Sikh Army took on a new shape. While the Hindu dominated Indian Government was busy trying to exterminate the Sikhs, and announced that they had "broken their back", the Sikh Freedom Fighters re-organized themselves into several forces, dedicated to liberating the Sikh Homeland. The popular forces included:

Khalistan Commando Force: Headed by General Labh Singh Ji

Babbar Khalsa International: Headed by Jathedar Sukhdev Singh Ji "Babbar" Jathedar Talwinder Singh Ji and Bhai Wadhawa Singh "Babbar"

Khalistan Liberation Force: Headed by Avtar Singh "Brahma", and later by Bhai Gurjant Singh "BudhSinghWala"

Bhindranwala Tigers Force: Headed by Baba Gurbachan Singh Manochahal

These Sikh Freedom Fighters quickly became popular among the masses, and have been looked upon by the young and old alike. This, of course, did not suit the Fascist Indian Government. Since the early 1980's the Punjab police along with thousands of paramilitary troops began a systematic, terror campaign not only against the these Freedom Fighters, but also against the general Sikh public. Thousands of young Sikh men between the ages of 15-25 were imprisoned, tortured, and afterwards exterminated. Sikh women were humiliated in public, stripped naked, and gang raped by the government hoodlums. Anyone whom the Indian tyrants suspected was quickly arrested or conveniently "eliminated" in routinely staged fake encounters. These actions only strengthened the resolve of the Sikhs to rid their Homeland of the Indian Invaders, and establish self-rule.

To create chaos and destabilize the Freedom Movement, the Indian government, has planted its agents (pseudo-Sikhs) in all Sikh organizations in Punjab. Many agents are actually Punjabi Hindus disguised as Sikhs. They have also infiltrated most of the Sikh Organizations and Temples abroad. The main goal of these agents is to discredit the Independence Movement and create confusion among the general public.

In Punjab, the Government is spending millions of dollars in a campaign to "Hindu-ize" the Sikhs into the old-Brahmanic fold. To weaken the future generation's religious attitudes illicit drugs, pornography, and alcohol is being made readily available to the youths of Punjab. Television programs are aimed to promote anti-Sikh behavior, which they believe will cause the new generation to lose its religious identity. This is exactly what the Sikh Freedom Fighters are fighting against.

Since the Eighties, countryside of Punjab has been wasted by the Indian Army, Sikh men are routinely rounded up and killed in fake encounters.

Some of the graphic tales of torture:

Today the Sikh Nation is fighting for its survival, for its dignity, and for its Independence. The day is not far when the Khalsa will ride upon to the Red Fort in Delhi to fly the Kesri Nishan Sahib, and liberate the Sikh Homeland from the crutches of the Fascist Indian Government.
