KARACHI, Sept 15: Police found on Tuesday a large cache of weapons believed to have been stored for attacks in Karachi.
The weapons — 17 hand grenades, nine rocket launchers, five anti-tank mortars, nine Kalashnikovs, and two suicide jackets — were found in a drain near the Saeedabad police training centre.
Police believed that the weapons belonged to terrorists who had tried to attack an oil terminal in Kaemari on Monday night.
Meanwhile, Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfikar Ali Mirza said that terrorists having suffered defeat in Malakand were heading towards major cities to mount terror attacks.
He said police had so far arrested over 60 terrorists and extremists.—Agencies
