Thanks, folks. When I left in 2007 things on the forum were pretty combative and I was leaving for an internet-free year in Afghanistan so I figured it was time for a break. Things seemed to have quieted down since I left.
Oh yeah, I really like the new forum look and functionality!

The break was nice. Too busy but nice.
The Taliban are doing okay. They told me they were ready for a Wal-Mart and McDonalds in Kabul.
