Govt to introduce dual nationality, contempt of court amendment bills




ISLAMABAD: Federal cabinet on Wednesday approved the bill which will allow the dual nationals of the country to participate in the next general elections and will also protect current dual-national lawmakers from the disqualification, DawnNews reported.
Draft of the dual nationality bill 2012 was presented in the federal cabinet meeting, headed by Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf.
The bill was approved with mutual consensus of the cabinet ministers; Now it will be presented in the National Assembly before it could become a law.
The Supreme Court  while hearing the case relating to legislators holding dual nationality on Wednesday suspended the national and provincial assembly memberships of two members of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
The National Assembly membership of Farhat Mahmood and the Sindh Assembly membership of Nadia Gabol were suspended by the apex court during Wednesday’s hearing of the dual nationality case.
The Cabinet also approved the draft of Contempt of Court Bill 2012 during Wednesday’s session.

Even with the current system these people are ripping apart Pakistan. On the other hand overseas Pakistanis, the ones who are patriotic, gets a real chance to change things instead of bitchiin about on-line.

For a bill to be introduced, you have to have 2/3 majority, and PPP coalition does not have it unless Business league joins in.

Now 2 things:

1- N-league does chip in with the votes because they themselves have dual-nationals within their party, and secondly, the children of Nawaz Sharif are also dual-nationals(i maybe wrong on this one).

2- Maybe Malik Riaz can chip in with some money.

a couple of N league MNAs are dual nationals . no wonder they're quiet over this,

well, raja rental got 211 votes when he got elected, isnt that 2/3 majority? This law is just for the purpose of next election to get the traitors, foriegn spies into the corridors of power. e.g rehman malik. MQM is also getting edgy about this as their leader is a foriegn national.

Decision making on state level, is the sole domain for those who got allegiance to Pakistan and Pakistan only, and it must be enforced.

^^ Resigned or send by MI6 to be mole/spy of west inside Pakistan. Imagine how much damage he has already done to Pakistan by stealing the sensitive information. It is known that he has handed over the nadra database to his western masters.
