ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Netherlands in Pakistan Gajus Scheltema appreciated the resilience of country’s economy despite several odds and war against terror and discussed several aspects of mutual cooperation including strategic partnership through demutualisation of the Islamabad Stock Exchange (ISE).
Scheltema visited ISE on Monday where he was welcomed by the directors of governing board of ISE including Mian Ayyaz Afzal, Brig ® Fateh Khan Malik, Farrukh Younas, Mehmood Ellahi and members of the ISE.
Scheltema said that the relationship between the two countries will further enhance.
Welcoming the guest, ISE Managing Director Afzal highlighted the role of the capital market in the economy of Pakistan. While terming Euronext, European Electronic Stock Exchange based in Amsterdam and its subsidiaries in Belgium, France, Netherlands, Portugal and the United Kingdom a success story, the ISE MD briefed about the demutualisation law recently promulgated by the government for demutualisation of the stock exchanges in Pakistan. Afzal also briefed about the functioning of ISE and its overall performance in the region. staff report
