Victim of BM is hard to say, but can tell you if you have negative energies influencing you. Example, you hate your job (which you used to love), thinking negatively about issues, always stressed out, more rude than what you were, etc. These could be mischief of spiritual entities. You could cleanse yourself, do abolution, and pray Ayatul Kursi plus the 4 Quls. That helps in repelling negativities. You will feel that you are calming down after and think straight, that works.

However, that may not work 100% for BM.

Waz, I apologize, but the book says it in the name itself; The Book of Shadows. That is a witchcraft spell book (shadows). Even the other link has a 666/evil in it.
Nevertheless, I mentioned those books in another context. The conversation was heading in a different direction, and that was from the other's point of view that I wanted to show.

When you recite and seek help, Allah sends angels to assist you. They send DJinns to do just the opposite. Black Magick is very much prevalent and has it's tangible affects on humans, we can't just ignore that.

Agree. If you or anyone else wants to read about how angels deal with these demons read about the the armies of heaven, led by the archangels Michael and Gabriel, when Allah ordered them to destroy the armies of demons who were causing mischief on the earth. This happened many millennia before the creation of our father Adam.

There is also the hadith in Muslim and Bukhari where the arch angel Gabriel faced an army of Ifreet by himself who were coming to harm the Prophet. He blew his powerful breath at the Ifreet and scattered their army across the sands of Arabia and many were destroyed.

Same angels are used by the Ceremonial Magicians as well.

Against people, you need specifics. What to be done, name, mother's name, date of birth, and sometimes ensuring the talisman reaches them.
It's not some Agha Khan mass wedding.

Btw, I too with permission have subordinated a couple of mowakils of some wazaif. Based on my own xperience, NEVER do a wazifa unless its free for all or you have obtained permission from your Sheikh for it. People and Awliyah have gone mad or been led astray by shaitan when they performed a wird without a sheikh/his permission. Oh and easy way to subordinate a good Jinn is to recite Surah Jinn. But this is xtrmly dangerous and potentially fatal (thats why Im not posting its details). So only Awliyah undertake this wazeefa with permission of course.
A tip, recite Qaseedah Burdah Sharif everyday and note the change in yourself people.

The topic is really one of those things that has been dealt with very comprehensively. the problem is becuase people prefer to rely on myth than fact, they have marred the public understanding. Any person who has read the Quran and the sayings of the Prophet (SAWS) knows that Sehr is not only a confirmed thing, it is also a major sin that makes you an immediate apostate. What I say now is a mixture of personal understanding and fact so kindly take it with a grain of salt and confirm things.

There are two forms of black magic. One that is done through jinn and the other is what humans have an innate power to cast. The latter being the stronger form but harder to do. I prefer to call them the dependent and the integral forms since the dependent form can be conducted with the use of entities other than jinns. Proof: Samar, the mage of pharoah who worked in consoriton with haman, used jinn to predict the coming of Musa (AS) and eventually joined the children of Israel and made the calf.

Magic predominantly came with the two angels Harut and Marut who, like many other angels, were sent to test humans. They would teach it those who ahd a greed for it on only after letting them know that the consquence was kufr. Solomen (AS) confiscated all the books of magic and sealed them ( by some accounts in the tower of solomon and by some under the throne of Solomen. However upon his passing away the jinns that worked under him were freed and they deceived the people by claiming the source of his  (AS) immense power was those books against which he had conducted  a Jihad. The people broke in and stole them. Since then it has taken many forms but this much is clear. It is haram in all its forms. This does not include the occasional blessing of God to pious people who are sometimes able to do what appear to be supernatural deeds (I do not call them awliya for I see no such nomenclature assigned in the Quran or by the Prophet (SAWS))

As far as identifying if your a victim it is very very tricky business. A lot of people get hoodwinked in tis regard which has lead to a flourishing quack market. There are ways to objectively identify people who cast magic though. Refer an authentic shcolar in this regard.

Can you be protected from it? Sure. Is there infalliable protection? NO.  The Prophet (SAWS) himself fell victim to black magic so i refuse to beleive any person who claims to have acquired immunity. He is merely deluding himself.   Redgriffin has given a very decent list to start off with. Add Ayat ul kursi at night as added protection.

But the warning i give to all people stills tands: Please do not get paranoid. Please do not going about trusting every so called amil. NEVER trust someone who claims to have subdued and enslaved a jinn. It is Haram. A man who does not care for Halal/Haram can never be trusted. Never trust an amil who asks for your mothers name.
