Narendra Modi acquitted in Gujarat riots case


NEW DELHI: An investigation team appointed by India’s Supreme Court has found no evidence against Gujarat’s chief minister over deadly anti-Muslim riots in the state a decade ago, a court said Tuesday.
Narendra Modi has been accused by rights groups of having turned a blind eye to the violence that swept the state in 2002 and claimed as many as 2,000 lives, and of failing to bring to justice the perpetrators of the killings.
“According to the Special Investigation Team, no offence has been established against” Modi or any of the 57 others listed in the complaint, the magisterial court said, reported by the Press Trust of India.
The announcement was a boost for Modi, a prominent member of the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and seen as a potential candidate to be India’s prime minister in the 2014 general elections.
The complaint had been filed by Zakia Jafri, widow of a former Congress Muslim lawmaker, Eshan Jafri, who was burnt to death along with 68 other people by a mob in a housing colony in Gujarat.
Zakia Jafri had filed a complaint against Modi, his ministerial colleagues, top police officials and members of the BJP, accusing them of conspiracy in the riots and the Supreme Court ordered an inquiry into the allegations.
Modi’s lawyer called the allegations against his client “absurd.”The decision by the Special Investigation Team comes as Modi is set to run for a fourth term in office in elections in the western state, known as one of India’s most industrialised, due to be held later this year.
The decision came after an Indian court convicted 23 people on Monday over the massacre of nearly two dozen Muslims during the riots in Gujarat state.
Some 31 Muslims were found guilty last year on murder and conspiracy charges for the train attack in which 59 Hindu devotees were killed that sparked the anti-Muslim riots.
Hindu mobs seeking revenge rampaged through Muslim neighbourhoods in several cities across Gujarat during three days of bloodshed.
Modi got another boost last year when a US Congressional research paper hailed his governance track record and called him the “likely” prime ministerial candidate for the BJP in the 2014 national elections.

This should be an eye opener to those specially the "liberals" within Pakistan. This hindu terrorist is on his way to the premiership of india, backed by american congressmen (aka Zionist/jews/isrealies), and who is anti Pakistan to the core.

Pakistan must prepare for this eventuality when this devil may endup as indian PM come 2014. We dont have much time left. A year or two max. The corrupt leadership in Pakistan must be removed either by ballot or by bullet ASAP so we are in better position and prepared.

the clearance of modi from the court, the PR he has gained in the Times Nominees list for 2012, and a potentially forthcoming indian prime minister within two years.

Sounds like things are cooking great for his career.

If he is given any chance, he isn't going bring back indian forces from the western indian borders at all!
And what a great oppurtunity for modi or india wouldn't it be when the coas officials of Pak Armed Forces can't stop done attacks, when they don't have any clear picture of how many american troops and cia operatives are coming in and out of Pakistan, when can't protect their own civilians and protect their own soldiers for that sake!

On the issue if Pakistanis would stand united without any hesitance behind the Pak Armed Forces; it is highly doubtful when the youth is more focused how to feed their families, get an education and get a respectable stable income. Of course, also enslaved by the Pakistani media which promotes vulgar, sex, sexyness and bollywood content.
Which Pakistani youngster would ever have the courage, inner patriotic spirit and will to stand up against the trespassing aggressors and enemies of Pakistan, when the coas officials, who are given the titles of "defenders of Pakistan" can't defend their own GHQ, their own repuation, images, stars on their shoulders and the borders of Pakistan due to the fear of govt of usa pressurizes them so much that they get diarrhea and get out of focus to protect Pakistan, it's people and it's future!
They can't even hinder building and extension of the american embassy in Islamabad that has so many undergound sections, which even Hameed Gul has given his comments on*!

And the state of the average Pakistani who comes and says on the Pakistani media is: nuke the country! Why? Only because there is no gas, electricity, cheap food products and no economic savings for sending their children to school!! They feel depressed and have no future for themselves and their future generations! When they in reality also vote for the same bloody fools that slap the public yet again!


The ground reality among the average Pakistani Jawaan is; the morale is down because they can't relate their training, loyalty , honesty, will and love for Pakistan and it's people compared to the sold out coas-officials who have no contact with the average Jawaan in any ways at all!!!
It's all up to the Majors and commanders of their own men/staff how to relate to the orders that are coming from above -and to protect Pakistan from both sides which they have to use their heart, souls and minds to tackle the harsh situation so Pakistan can be defended! .


Lets hope Inshallah, the Jawaans don't break their oaths and promises they've given to Pakistan.
The heat is rising, it's only a question WHEN a Jawaan will turn down orders coming from above, gets jailed through a military court and will be a rolemodel in leading the rest of the Jawaans to side up with the people of Pakistan. Not the corrupt idiots sitting in the civil govt and ghq!
The coas officials have already given great despair to the average Jawaan who have has lost their morale. Not only them, but the same feeling and thought is also witnessed among the Pakistani people.

wrong news. He haven't been acquitted yet. The Supreme court appointed a team to investigate who didn't found any evidence. Now they will submit their report to the court and court will verify the same before coming to any decision.

Do you know that he has NEVER expressed remorse or offered an apology for the Gujarat carnage? As for him becoming prime minister, that is doubtful as many in India don't trust him and consider him far too hawkish. Pakistan is labelled as hotbed for religious extermists, but the reality is that it is india where they actually had a religious fanatic party the BJP in power not long ago. So if the indian population can bring BJP to power, what will stop them to do this again come 2014, when modi will certinaly be the BJP candidate for PM. This is the same party which in 98 put the security of sub-continent in limbo by testing nukes. It was the "mild" vajpayee then, imagine what modi will do.

Apparently he was denied visa by America.

Besides Modi is not allowed to campaign for BJP in Bihar and UP (so that muslims don't get angry) forget he being PM of this country in 2014.

There are many muslims who have won elections in Gujrat under him and many muslims vote him as well.

One needs to understand this is realpolitik.

Courts work on evidence. Modi never killed a single person although encouraged his party workers to do that but then there is no evidence against him. Many of the culprits are brought to justice and have been given capital punishments. Last week only some 23 men were convicted for 2002 Gujrat riots. Total number of convicted people is more than 100-150 I believe and many cases are still on including cases against Modi.

Similarly I can put many Pakistani politicians who have murdered their countrymen and are roaming freely just like Modi.

Again I am wondering what kind of state india is that at one part of the country he is not allowed and at other he is. You admit that muslims in india are pissed off with him (hence he was not allowed), yet somehow the muslims in gujrat are happy with him whos lives were battered by this animal. Great logic! Is it not criminal offence in india to look other way when people are getting butchered? but it is india again, i wont be surprised. You lot kept on bitching about Hafiz Saeed, a man convicted by our own governemnt many times over under american pressure, but all these times he was released as a free man by Pakistani courts due to lack of evidence. He didnt murder anyone in mumbai massacre, if that is the same analogy you applied to modi. Hafiz Saeed has done a lot of charity work in Pakistan and is respect by that virtue.

Modi didnt kill his countrymen for political reason, but just because of pure hatred towards muslims. Hindus of gujrat are full of hatred towards muslims and Pakistan and i know this for fact. Hatred is the reason for him to get elected by indian masses. Atleast it will show the real face of india.

In Pakistan, throughout our history, people never voted for religious fanatics. Only time religious parties came in power when they won the Kyber Paktoonkhawa provience during musharaf era, but had nothing to do with the hatred of india rather mushy trying to create a bogey of mullahs and scare the yanks out in order to gain support for himself in the center. We never had mullahs in center but india on the other hand, had BJP. These are the fact and ground realities.
