Ambassador Masood Khan has said that the Chinese leadership perceives any threat to Pakistan as a threat to China and fully supports us as a true friend.He, however, reminded that the primary responsibility of defending Pakistan’s sovereignty is our own.“There is absolute trust between Pakistan and China which is a precious commodity. Pakistan’s independence and sovereignty is quite sacred to the people of Pakistan and we have to defend it ourselves,” said ambassador Khan in a recent interview.Pak-China friendship is of fundamental significance for ensuring peace and stability in the region, he said, adding that there is consensus between the two countries to make collective efforts for regional peace.



“I believe the collective efforts of Pakistan and China act as a balancing factor for regional stability,” he added.
China, Ambassador Khan said, has emphasized time and again upon the international community to recognize the contribution and sacrifices of Pakistan in the war against terror. China has also asked the world to assist Pakistan and refrain from creating troubles for the country.

He maintained that China has always assisted in improving Pakistan’s economy. It has always helped in capacity building of our personnel and strengthening the defence of Pakistan.

Both the countries are strategic partners and know how to endure their partnership over a long period of time, he added.

Pakistan has always stood shoulder to shoulder with China on all issues including Taiwan, Tibet and Xinjiang. Similar has been the position of China, Khan noted.
