Indian Bookie admits WC was fixed
http://timesofindia....ow/12225334.cms
LOOOOOL read the comments below, most indians are now waking upto reality that they cant win anything on their own and that they had to buy the cup. Some of them are hilarious like "our pathetic team did nothing in last 3-4 and then they all of sudden win the WC, i knew something was fishy", "i remember being so happy at p.a.k.i.s dropping those catches, now i feel like a fool" etc etc.
And apparantley the rumor going around IN INDIAN CIRCLES is that Katrina Kaif and Kareena Kapoor were seeing/sleeping with some of the pak cricketers for the semi final and some other actress for the sri lankans for the final. this is both hilarious and sad

Its not just that. Our fix was, as predicted, more to do with political sides of things. Had Pakistan beaten Indian there would have been no final as Indian dogs would not have let that happened in Mumbai.
However, my question will go toward Indian team. As the book states its no about fixing whole of the match but rather a portion of the match. India in that match were cruising and would have put on massive total above 320 but they struggled and only managed to post 260.. there was big fix between 25 and 40 overs where Indian lost wickets and runs.
If we take our inspiration and guidance from the Holy Qur’an, the final victory, I once again say, will be ours… Do not be overwhelmed by the enormity of the task… You only have to develop the spirit of the Mujahids. You are a nation whose history is replete with people of wonderful character and heroism. Live up to your traditions and add to another chapter of glory. All I require of you now is that everyone… must vow to himself and be prepared to sacrifice his all… in building up Pakistan as a bulwark of Islam and as one of the greatest nations whose ideal is peace within and peace without… Islam enjoins on every Mussulman to give protection to his neighbors and to minorities regardless of caste and creed. Former Indian wicket-keeper batsman Syed Mujtaba Hussein Kirmani has stressed the need for the return of international cricket to Pakistan, saying passionate fans should not be deprived of the high-profile action on their soil.
Pakistan has been deprived of international cricket following a terrorist attack on the Sri Lanka cricket team on March 3, 2009 in Lahore.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is striving hard to bring back international cricket by inviting Bangladesh to tour the war-torn country next month.
The legendary Indian wicket-keeper, who was on a personal trip to Karachi, was addressing members of Sports Journalists Association of Sindh (SJAS) and Pakistan Sports Writers Federation (PSWF) -- affiliated with AIPS at a reception hosted by SJAS at Karachi Press Club.
He says: “It’s nice to be here after 20 years. It was memorable to visit the Karachi National Stadium where I first played back in 1979. I met some former Pakistan players there, including Zaheer Abbas and Wasim Bari.”
Kirmani represented India from 1976 to 1986 and was a part of their 1983 World Cup winning team.
“The entire subcontinent is passionate about its cricket and no part should be deprived of it. I really want to see international cricket making a return to Pakistan. The PCB, BCCI should start a new chapter.”
He is of the view that while he wanted the revival of Pakistan-India bilateral series, it was not in his domain to speak on the policies of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). While the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has shown desperation over the revival of the series, BCCI’s continuous reluctance prompted the board’s chairman Zaka Ashraf to say that India was afraid of playing against Pakistan. However, Kirmani expresses discontent at the comments and says such comments should be avoided.
Earlier, Secretary General, SJAS Ubaid-ur-Rehman Awan welcomed him and briefed the members about his achievements in cricket. President, SJAS and PSWF Rashid Ali Siddiqui presented him an SJAS souvenir, while Secretary of the Karachi Press Club Moosa Kaleem honoured him with Sindh's traditional Ajrak. Present on the occasion were Senior Vice President Syed Nasar Iqbal, Treasurer Shahid Ali Khan, members Muhammad Asghar, Muhammad Asif, Naved Arshad, Shoaib Ahmed Jutt, Zahid Ghaffar, Fawad Hussain, Irshad Ali, Tariq Hussain, Hasnain Anwar and others.
Kirmani was the quietly efficient worker ant who replaced the flamboyant Farokh Engineer behind the stumps for India, and went on to become their greatest wicketkeeper. His 12-year stint at the top saw a sea-change in the way India played. The early part of Kirmani's career was spent keeping wicket to the famed spin quartet, never the easiest of tasks. After they faded away, he had to step back a few paces to deal with a seam attack spearheaded by Kapil Dev. It is testament to Kirmani's greatness as a keeper that he was able to perform both roles with distinction. A doughty batsman down the order, he scored two Test hundreds and baled India out on several occasions. He played a crucial role in India's triumph in the 1983 World Cup, contributing a flourish or two with the bat in addition to being immaculate behind the stumps.

Younis and Misbah should learn some grace from the likes of Strauss and Vettori and retire from one-days in order to pro-long their test careers. They are both still very good AND USEFUL test batsmen who can play test for another 2-4 years. Besides it will only help them in the long run as they only have to concentrate on one type of batting style and therefore reduce pressure.
Can you imagine a batting line-up like this for ODI's?
Hafeez (our best batsman of 2011 and has a golden arm, just having a slight hiccup this year)
Jamshed (did really well in the BPL and doing ok so far, if he screws up can replace him with asad shafiq)
Azhar Ali (who averages 46 in domestic one-dayers and scored a 50 in his last match)
Sarfraz Ahmed (so far his keeping is amazing and his domestic batting record is great too)
Umar Akmal (who seems to finally be playing with sense)
Razzaq (who is still fairly young and can play well till next wc)
Hammad Azam (the next Razzaq, with even greater potential as he can bowl 140+ whilst razzaq was only in the 130's)
Afridi (the best bowler of 2011, who if we are lucky can provide 30 or more fast runs once in a while)
Gul (unplayable yorker man along with decent hitting down the order)
Ajmal (Best spinner and incidentally the best bowler in the world according to ODI rankings)
Cheema (becoming better with every match)

Pakistan have one of the strongest bowling units in the cricketing world today. Pakistan has one concern which are its openers. Hafeez and Jamshed need to get their act together. Also, Younis needs to start scoring runs. He is a class act, but needs more consistency. He's been there and done it before. As long as the top order fires the rest will follow suit. Also, Misbah needs to set as much attacking fields as possible. He has the tendency of going defensive after picking up a wicket. As long as these issues are sorted out Pakistan has a great chance of winning against any opponent.

Hello, I'd suggest that you also read what you posted and realize that out of his 33 WINNING odi hundereds more than a third came against non-test playing nations and weak teams like zimbabwe, bangladesh and west indies
please also realize that unlike other graceful cricketers sachin has selfishly denied youngsters a chance and has now played a 100+ odis more than any other batsman and that if those other batsmen such as ponting, jayasuriya, herchelle gibbs etc etc had played the same amount of odi's they would have had the same, if not more, centuries as him. CHEERS!

Not to mention Lara, if Lara had played as many matches as Tundo. he had scored alot more than tundo. this 100s 100 defines Tundos legacy. His 100s are for himself and not for team. Look at the ball he played to score a century against a team like bangladesh on flat batting friendly track.

Are you that shallow that you took the words LITERALLY that India loses whenever sachin scores a cetnury? you know very damn well that the point made is that USUALLY whenever sachin scores a century, especially in matches where it matters most, india dont win. in the article uu posted it said he has 26 match winning hundereds against strong full test members (btw that is deceptively misleading, one of those hundereds was against england which was tied and one was a no-result ie NOT MATCH winning hundreds). Go through his record and and realize that for the last 10yrs or so it's only barely 50% of the time that he has a "match-winning 100", and what even more startling that for the last 3 years, only ONE OF HIS FIVE hundreds was a "match-winning" hundred".
And before you or any other short-weinered mates gets all excited and happy about tommorow's result, let me assure you that Pakistan will lose tommorow's match so that India can save embarassment and make the final. (Rehman malik just flew out to bangladesh to meet with the team like he did with the semi-final). Pakistan and India will then play in the final on thursday which india will let Pakistan win as a return gesture

When you make a statement back it up. do not play with semantics like 'literally' 'meant it' 'thought'.
The point made was against a statement. And the stats don't support the quote I replied to.
Now you can go further and microscope it, your wish. The records still stand. The numbers speak for themselves and yes, they are statistics. Why don't you also check how many runs he has scored in the past 5 yrs? Do you know what his 'annual' batting average is for 17 years of his 20 year career? Its over 40. Do you know how many runs he scored in the last WC?
Since you are so much into statistics you will also know that statistics can be sliced and segmented to see what you want to see. So you wish to dissect it in a manner you want to. Thats your prerogative.
When one cannot hold an arguement, one tends to get personal.

Well it turns out that out of his 100 centuries Indian have only won 53 times while the remaining 47 times were loss, tie of draw.. that's almost 50-50 ratio. While if he passes 50 but gets out less than 100 his win to loss ratio is exact 50-50...
compare that to Ricky Ponting who has 71 hundreds and his team has won 55 times when he scores as hundred. which gives him a ratio of 77-23 which is impressive. And every times he passes 50 but less than hundred his win to loss ratio is 76-24..
Inzimam ul Haq well his has 35 International centuries and Pakistan has won 24 times when he has scored 100 or more giving him a percentage ratio of 68-32.
Steve Waugh has 32 Hundreds and Australia has won 25 times when he scored a hundred.
