If what Sobank wrote above, about case against Aamir, are the real points on which he was convicted than in my personal view he should be found not guilty. It was for ICC to prove the case against Aamir and not for Aamir to prove his innocence.
The judges based their judgement on assumptions and presumptions. It was for ICC to prove that indeed Aamir was involved in it.
Let me quote Sobank summary:
so a mer speculation that text was sent to Aamir, no evidence Aamir received it and Aamir denied receiving it. Hence, mere speculation is not sufficient to establish someones guilt. Need sold evidence.
In terms of his english knowledge again ICC had to prove he can read english
again no evidence he can communicate in written form, not oral form. No evidence by ICC..
again mere speculation.
again flawed.
First of all the video itself is doubtful. There is no time or date stamp on it and there is no evidence that it was recorded prior to the events. (I HAVNT READ THE JUDGEMENT HENCE ASSUMING NO EVIDENCE, otherwise there would have been alot of movement in the media about the video)
So ICC had to prove that the video indeed was recorded prior to the events. Than they indeed had to prove aamir carried it out on conspiracy and it should not have been for Aamir to prove that it was coincident.
I find alot of problems with the above. Unless there is evidence not disclosed, I find the verdict against Aamir flawed, no wonder they wanted to give him less sentence, I guess their whole objective was to keep him out of the world cup and damage Pakistan's chance of winning.
