Just to clarify one main point bro,

Hindu comes from Arabic Word Hind. Hind was land on the otherside of river Indus. As Modern Day Pakistani Areas are refered to as SINDH and when Mohammad Bin Qasim invaded, he took control of Land of Sindh. Similarly Indian area was refered to as HIND.

So word Hindu= a person from land of hind, he could be muslim, (modern day hindu, since they werent called hindus) etc..

Hence word Hindu has been hijacked by the religious personality and Yeh it were the british who called all these idol worshippers(no offence intended) HINDUS. Thus modern day definition of hindu as u pointed our is hundred or so year old.

So when muslims ruled, it was known as HINDUSTAN becoz it mean LAND OF HINDUs (as i said earlier HINDU = some1 from hind)...

Those different Hindu gods that Indians worship in different parts are all related to one another. North Indians worship Shiva, Maharashtrians Ganesh, Bengalis Durga, Tamils Murugan, etc. All these gods are related. There's no parallel Hinduism in different parts.

If a person looking for work travels to another province in Pakistan, you can be hell sure, he wouldn't have stones tied around his neck and thrown into a river.

Bro, secular democracy fundamentally means materialistic majority...in a 3rd world scenario it should come to no surprise that an Islam leaning Pakistan treats its minorities better than a secular India.  Secularism relies on the intellect, patience and virtue of the common man, if he is consumed with hunger, poverty and ignorance - then obviously minorities will not be treated well.  Just take a look at other "secular democratic" countries in Africa...what happens to minorities over there?  In fact, by taking away the "democracy" and solely relying on secularism, you end up with even more screwed up results - i.e. Apartheid South Africa, Zimbabwe, etc.  

In any case it has been established by even Western think tanks that a country needs a very strong and able educated middle class to guarantee a successful democracy...how do we go about creating that middle class?  Some would say dictatorship - based on experiences of some Asian Tigers...strong coherent leadership based on economic growth, social investment and political stability.  Others would say Islamic State based on not only what's obvious, but also the fact that Aristotle's work on the Middle Class idea was synthesized with Islamic teachings on politics and governance by our medieval scholars & thinkers.

The fact that Bangladesh was 1000 miles apart from Pakistan alone was enough to cause a partition. Pakistan could never manage a country so far apart to begin with. Unlike India it had nothing to begin with, no industries, no companes, no nothing. All it had was the unity of Muslims under one God and their will and courage to make a home for the Muslims. It was the same unity that defeated a mammoth 3 times larger military. Today an average Pakistani has better living conditions then an average Indian and its a fact. Although we still have internal problems like any other country, I think we have proved how accomplished we have become in our homeland. From unequal treatment in India to a better life for the average Pakistani than the common Indian, now thats an accomplishment...

Add to that list, very little farm land outside of Punjab and Sindh. Almost all of Balochistan has no arable land, NWFP has little arable land. A lot of it is hilly/mountain terrain. I'm not counting bangla because the food they gre was locally consumed.  In fact Pakistan has 25% arable land and India has 48% arable land. Also less infrastructure, roads, railroads, canals, factories, a small army and small airforce with transports.
