I doubt it man. Majority of the people of who wanted good for Pakistan, voted for the same goons that were looting Pakistan in the 90's, and probably still do support them. They cannot even control themselves in a protest, how on earth are they going to organize a revolution. A revolution, imho, will probably tear the country apart in the worst manner possible. I'm losing all, but one, hopes for this country :(

Musharaf had ample of time to change this system of democracy in Pakistan but he played with the lives of 160 million people and this country and was unable to stand up to US/West and show them a middle finger! His 8-years in power is a Colossal loss of the most important time in history of this country! Let me say this again--those 8 years in which this man was in power were the make or break for this country but this man broke the country and its strategic goals!!
What this country needs is someone from the military to rise up with 5-main objectives:
1- Hang all these corrupt politicians and military leaders for treason
2- Bring the best Pakistani minds from within and outside the country and set up system of government that serves people of this nation
3- Increase the pace of R&D in both civilian and defence industries
4- Pursue an independent foreign policy which is Pro-China
5- Bring in the best economic minds from every corner of the world and pay them well to speed up economic development.
The key is the changing the system of government in Pakistan.

Yeah ok, I'm sure all this will happen and there will be no blow back, right?
1. We already did hang ZAB and guess what? We turned his daughter into a prodigy who continued to haunt us for decades. Would you like doing the same thing over and over again? The ISI was very against ZAB hanging-they knew what would happen.
2. You want the best Pakistanis from around the world to come to Pakistan-right. The best minds are here in the US, Canada, Britain, etc. for a reason. Pakistan cannot offer the same opportunities as a lot of Western countries, so those that come to stay in the West don't necessarily want to go back to Pakistan (of course there are exceptions, but there wouldn't be millions of Pakistanis living abroad if conditions in Pakistan weren't bad). Sure Pakistani expatriates may send money back, but why come back to Pakistan when you can die for simply being from a different region of the country or for taking part in politics?
3. That has already happened under Musharraf and because of that, we are much more capable in the defense field. Spending on education has increased dramatically as well.
4. That was the key with Gwadar, but now that project seems to be going nowhere with the new government.
5. We did this with Shuakat Aziz, and now the new government has managed to undo much of his hard work in a matter of months.
Fact is that until the public masses cooperate with the government, nothing will change.

I am not talking about hanging a single person--I am talking about hanging hundreds or even thousands of politicians and military people! Believe it or not but this is good for the country.
You still don't get it--to simplify CEOs of major Fortune-500 corporations get millions of dollars in salaries but they ensure that billions of dollars of revenues are also generated. Economy of a country is no differnent to a huge organisation. What we need to do it to hire the best possible CEOs and their support staff and pay them millions but also clearly give them economic goals!! If you are offering millions of dollars in salaries then there is nothing stopping us getting the best in the world! Please don't argue with me on this point because we all know this is how it works!
I don't agree--R&D is a continuous process and I don't agree that only Mr Musharaf was responsible for this. Anyways we need to expand this and to civilian sectors as well. I am sick and tired of military encouraging only defence R&D--it is about time to put some control over this out of control organisation!
Sorry but the new government was bought in by Musharaf, Kiyani and the Military and therefore I consider them all cheats and thugs and part of the same corrupt system of government which I am totally against and want reformed on emergency basis!!!
Nope but Mr Aziz had one hand tired behind his back--we don't want this! We want a truly new government system with the economy directly under the control of an unelected, Professional CEO directly answerable to PM!! No bureaucratic Bull-Shi-t and no political BS interference what so ever!!
Right--I think you are living in a different world crazy--we have system of government in Pakistan that does not represent ordinary people and you are asking ordinary people to cooperate??? HAHAHA------sorry but ordinary people know that it the corrupt military and politicians plundering the country and 160 million people are no more than animals for them!!
WE NEED A NEW SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT TO SOLVE THIS PROBLEM ONCE AND FOR ALL!!!!

That's the problem. How many people is the Army willing to kill to make the country better? Please realize we aren't another China or Syria where mass executions are a norm. If it was, it would've been done long ago.

Rightly said, if the Army comes then it is very important to get rid of these elements by using extreme means. Even if we have to go into isolation for a couple of years of so--let it be. But the system needs to be cleaned up urgently if we want our country to survive. It is much better to die trying than to be enslaved by foreign powers through their goons.

agree, we have ##### up far too long, shuv liberalism up your ass nawas and zardari....Islam is messed up..extreme situations DEMAND extreme solutions, it is not for the people of pakistan to enjoy freedom....they can excercise it by most, but it is their childrens children and their children we need to worry about, we need to worry about their freedom and sovriegnty but we need to exterminate elements which are not disirable and which would result in destruction of our sovreignty, in 90s we lost it all together with youth being too westernised and no longer sovriegn nd independant.....now musharaf has fixed that a litle with free media...but we need to kill em all..fix once and for all...

Well shouldn't we assume that some of them are honest people. I have this believe that despite all the corruption in Pakistan for decades, the country survived because there are still some honest people working in the govt depts like the police force or some lawyers or judges who are holding the fabric of society together with their hardwork. It cannot be that Pakistan is still there if all the people running it were corrupt.
But we really need to find new political leadership who will bring change to the country and take it out of its present predicaments. I am hopeful that our young generation is soon going to take over and maybe they have real love for Pakistan and would want to steer Pakistan out of gloom and into the bright sunlight.

Lein303 brother i respect you and i have had very nice and decent conversations with you but since your in a mood to talk bullsh!t lets do it shall we, if the PM cant speak english like other leaders of world including french and Chinese who like to speak in their own languages to show their nationalism then Mr.Gilani should speak in urdu just as well with an interpreter who can translate what he speaks in urdu into english or visa versa, if your not an so called english speaking stick up get the forum rules changed and lets speak in our national language Mr Urdu loving Pakistani nationalist, since what your doing and saying is called Hypocracy! This is a Pakistani forum representing all branches of Pakistan may it be military or politics its self clearly going by what you said it should be in Urdu.
English is a lanuage,a medium of communication just like all languages, this is not about his english, yours or mine the point is he is the PM of Pakistan( lets forget which party he is from) and he should be representing Pakistan in a good way,if he cant speak the language properly then he should stick to his national language just like all the other leaders of the world and use a Damn interpreter.
Oh yes please refrain from giving your personal opinion about me since you or GOD willing anybody else doent have the right to brand me as an english speaking stickup( thats a very offensive word and term) i am clearly offended by those words and i being a good human being and a good Pakistani am requesting you to keep your opinions about me to your self brother.

Well, Zardari was in Dubai, and the script was with him, so the Qaum ka inthikhab was delayed till 11 PM.
Then Gillani had a hard time reading from the tele-porter.
woh hijjay kar kar key par raha tha!
So it was re-queued, and the script was handed to him in his hands.
Then he began, at 11:30 PM his live qaum se inthikhab, assuming Pakistani's will not sleep or watch a movie, but stay awake past 1 AM to hear what he has to say for Zardari.
The brainless guy keeps turning towards the crew, camera man and others as if he's giving a speech to a live audience, he had to be told to look into the camera lenses.
What a moron!

The army's job is to secure our borders and not play as a tool for ANY political force...
Remember how the Indians did the deed in 71... They simply used muslims against muslims... Two nation theory ko void kia tha...
Even today we see the same thing happening... Muslims are being used to agitate against the central govt... And the central govt is being forced to fight those people as front line troops for someone else...
We (Pakistanis) need the army to protect the borders and ensure that there is minimal infiltration from Afghanistan... Lets work for Pakistan's interests and not get bogged down into internal politics...
That is a diversion...

Yaar ... Army as an institute is not designed to run a state;
However, even though you and I have shared this a million times before, but ... Army is far better equiped when compared to Asif Ali Zardari, Altaf Hussain and Nawaz Sharif or even the Sardars of Balochistan.
I think we have to look to the far eastern countries .... how their one party/one man rule have taken them far ... far ahead of where we stand.
And honestly mate, @ 8% avg growth that Musharaf was managing was actually taking us on that road.
