What is about the Turkey and Pakistani Tank cooparation ? have they better material I mean part of modern Tanks or what ?

why do Pakistan not buy Artillary from Turkey are they not good or what...or expensive?
Turkish press reported that a Pakistani armour firm will participate in the Turkey's new generation tank project. Turkey and Pakistan have signed many memorandums of understanding in various defence-related fields. Given that many Pakistani firms have signed joint agreements with Western firms, it is possible that a considerable part of the Al Khalid II's design will be influenced from the Turkish tank design.
The Pakistan Army will standardize its artillery capability to 155 mm by 2019. This can be seen by the acquisition of 115 M109A5 self-propelled howitzers from the United States, and joint production deals of 155 mm shells with French and South Korean firms. It is expected that the army will procure a range of light, medium and heavy towed and self-propelled howitzer artillery from China, Europe and the United States. These will replace all non-155mm and older systems.

I am asking this cuz I read somewhere that the British has this tradition that they do not retire their Filed Marshal from "active service" and they continue to enjoy the previllages of serving military generals.

Borthers I have a question if anyone could help me plz, Whats the difference, if any, between a "Field Marshal" and normal army generals??
I am asking this cuz I read somewhere that the British has this tradition that they do not retire their Filed Marshal from "active service" and they continue to enjoy the previllages of serving military generals.
field marshal in the UK or UK influenced forces (i.e. India, Pakistan) is the equivalent of a 5 star general while the chief of the army (like Musharraf) is a 4 star general. It's mostly been a ceremonial rank (although Mongomery had the rank bestowed on him during the Normandy campaign) and one of the priviledges is that you stay on active service as you said.

I have also a queation what India have do with the capetured pakistani Military Matrial
I mean:
1. The Army equipment..Tnaks Guns..
2. The F-86 sabre Jets
3. The Navy ships
??????????
i assume you mean the material captured in East Pakistan right? I'd imagine that equipment went into equipping the Bangladeshi armed forces. No navy ships in East Pakistan were left afloat after 1971 and any that were made it to Pakistan. the sabres probably also went into the BAF when it was created.

What I would like to know is that the accounts given of the 1965 war on wikipedia is correct or incorrect? In that some mention we had a stalemate others say we lost it or it was disasterous. They also say that we instgated the war from Operation Gilbraltar?? Can anyone confim this for me?
Don't trust wikipedia, its all indian propaganda.
That shows how insecure those bhindians are about their own country and that makes me laugh!

can it be ?
we can do it. we did it on cobras. Whether we have other chopers like that, well to my knowledge, no other chopers is modified in such a way.
Sorry to put this foward again, but there were some elements of the PA that had testified or experts who have contridicted the claims of the PA. Also a report in 1994 from the US statedeprtment who had mentioned the Pak campaign as disaster. What would be a crediblew and fair source for the 1965 war, I mean an independent view?
thankyou in advance
over all, nothing was gained excpet some area of kashmir (if i remember it correctly). Technically speaking then yes operation jibralter was a disaster.
Did anyone really won. No none of the party got anything of major importance.

Kind of. The batteries do have a shelf life but I'm sure someone could rig something up to power it. The issue is with the seeker head. It must be stored correctly and be purged from time to time. Even with proper storage and purging it still goes bad in time.

The battery is required for pre-flight operation and for spinning the gyros before launch. If that battery stops functioning, the Stinger cannot be used.
Rigging the thermal battery that you are talking about is not easy. They are custom manufactured for exact voltage, start time, and configuration requirements. Not to mention the fact that the battery and the coolant unit are one complex module attached as one single unit.
A steady supply of batteries is an absolute must for operation of those missiles.
P.S.: Shelf life of the thermal battery and the coolant unit is about 20 years.

How does Igla fair with respect to the latter ones?
Q2. Javelin and Mistral seems to be bulkier and looks like they have limited portability.
Is there any european man portable anti air system equivalent to IglaS, Anza III and Stinger?
