Struck by love over the net, Indians try to cross into Pakistan


NEW DELHI - Two Indian girls who fell in love with Pakistani men over the internet, were detained by the Indian security forces while trying to cross the Line of Control (LoC) a defacto border in the Kashmir region, news reports said on Monday.

Asha Patel, 24, and Ayesha Sharma, 22, realized that love does have boundaries when they were caught by security personnel on Sunday at Chakan-da-Bagh in Jammu, the winter capital of India-administered Kashmir.

“Both had even decided the point at the border fence where they would cross, a method normally used by the militants,” the NDTV network reported adding that the army caught them minutes before they crossed and handed over them to police.

Jammu and Kashmir is among the most heavily guarded states in India, as New Delhi alleges that militants aided by rival Pakistan regularly infiltrate through the LoC to carry out attacks in the state.

Police said Patel began chatting with Mumtaz Khalid, a Lahore youth over the internet four years ago. ”This was followed by phone calls till it developed into love. The emotions became so intense that sidelining the prickly practicalities of the border, they solemnized their marriage on the internet,” a police officer told the Times of India.

Police said Patel from western Mumbai city which is located over 1,500 kilometres from the LoC and Sharma, a resident of northern Uttaranchal state got to know each other through their boyfriends.

Though they are freeo back home now, the girls said they would make efforts to unite with their beloved. ”We may not be able to meet at the India-Pakistan border but we can still meet at other places. They cannot stop us from meeting,” Patel was quoted by NDTV as saying.

We allready have banned all Indian Channels in Pakistan the only place that cannot get Indian Channels at all is Karachi and in Punjab every where you would see Indian Channels and then even if they stop selling the Indian Movies and stop showing Indian Channels people can still download them off the INternet, we need to do some thing so that our Youth gets away from Indian Culture we need to do some thing fast ! These guys(nearly all Pakistani Private Channels) can't resist playing bollywood shows and promos...... kabhi kabhar to family ke saath dekhne ke qaabil bhi nahi rehte.............

I was watching a TV show on PTV in which Rubina Ashraf (a leading actress for quiet sometime) told that these channels when asked for telecasting Indian Material and Indian "Copied" Material, respond by saying they are NOT PAKISTANI Channels as they telecast from outside Pakistan.......

Chairman PEMRA was sitting in the same discussion and had the same pathetic lame excuses with him on this........ about signing of clauses with these channels and not getting implemented etc......

Indeed CABLE has really upgraded our "levels". u all know that........

As far as stopping Rat stuff infiltrating our society.......
It can only happen when we re-innovate our leagacy of dramas and comedy that we persisted during 60s, 70s and 80s which i don't see happening. We have been taken over by a phobia of Indian Dramas and stuff..... our film industry is ruled by jahils(i am not saying metaphorically). They like to make movies on their interestsssss....... aaj kal "GUJARS" pe zor hai.......... We need to create Subjects and talk on them and not just stupid love love love...........

Our Stage is producing cheap dialogues and obscene dances these days.................... unfortunately it looks like no one cares for them......... people are slowly getting used to it.................. which obviously results in low moraility in society.

This is a serious problem not taken seriously by people of Entertainment Industry and GoP at the moment. There is a huge vacuum which will be ultimately filled by Indian Cinema and Dramas(by the way pressure is now increasing to allow all indian movies into Paksitani cinemas after Taj Mehal .......... very soon we might be watching Bipasha Basu doin her stuff in cinemas).

I'm pretty sure we are a minority guys when we say we hate Bollywood...the Pakistani public seem to love it! For crying out loud you hear Bollywood songs played in every shop, their DVD's sold far and wide and could you just imagine if Sharukh came to Lahore what would happen?

And about Bollywood in Pakistan, I have seen our own channels showing indian songs and indian film promos in pakistan, I have seen the crudest of bhindian films playing on Pakistani cable tvs and yes I have seen nudety and indian filth on Pakistani cable tv. And i seriously think that unless it is stopped, younger Pakistanis will turn into the most perverted and desperate bastard (nearly as bad as indians) in the world!!

Brotherman, i do understand what you say. Annoyingly enough, this is the current predicament but not for long, Inshallah. As for pointing fingers, it seems to me that there are more fingers pointing at us with alot of garbage being spewed through indians in western media, than we do it ourselves.

Actually thats the only option. Banning Indian Channels/Movies/Actors in Pakistanis Movies will not completly solve the problem. Ppl will still watch it on Cable/Pirated Dvds. Our Silver Screen is facing the problem of technical Facilities and Finance. The people who are financing have no clue what a film is. They want "GUJARS" to be heroes!

This needs to be catered immediately to get the objective of banning else the running water will find others ways but keep flowing!

These Cable opreators are the biggest insect in our society today, what we need to do is find every singal cable opreator, and do what Iran does put them in the middle of the road tie them up to a pol and give a beating of thier life time ! seriosuly if it was in my control i would develope such a system that send virus thrugh every sinagl cable opreator that is opreating Indian Channels of movies, destory all thier equipment by virus they do it again send the virus again ! just keep on destorying thier equipment and then at the end when they stop making profit and dont make money they will start to leave it !

We also need to do what China did, i mean China has sensord every thing what other countries publish about it on the Internet so chiness people dont have acess to any of that crap, we should do the same when we got enemies like India we have to, sensor every thing from Indian Serials to bollywood on our Internet of Pakistan, so that they cannot acess any of the information totaly cut all the links and resources ! and trust me it will crack down in matter of a year !

Steps i feel need to be taken :

1) Develope a Virus so that if any one is boradcasting Indian channels and movies send a virus though the network destorying all thier equipment !

2) once we have cleared every thing on our Tv, the second stage people will turn towards interent for information, second step will be do what China has done ban Indian Resourses for ever ! no one in Pakistan should be able to go to or search for bollywood or Indian Televsion ban all that from our Internet !

3) third stage send notice to every channel no one is allwoed to show any program on our channels which are Indian ! No Indian channels or songs running on our Pakistani channaels !

4) thoes who smugal the DVD and all, if they are caought stright in jail for 5 years ! akal theekany a jaye gi salon ki !

and this is how we can get rid of Indian from our youths every day life !

Normally i wouldnt make a fuss about Indian movies and Indian TV Channels, but right now i'm feeling quite differently about it.  

I'm currently in Pak, aur yahan Indian film aur music industry sab se aagay hia... ! What's more surprising (if not disturbing) is that the exposure aka "nudity" (meray lehaas se any way) is openly shown w/o editing. At times i'm afraid to switch channels with my dad present, coz i fear to hit a channel with more-than-half-naked-females anytime!!!  

Moreover, my grandma's got a lill Mullah staying with her (this young kid hif'zing the quran) and all he wants to do when he gets home is watch bollywood movies!

Lol stay the hell away from them....Indian girls in the UK mainly Hindu Gujarti ones have a fascination with Pakistani guys here and you always get them coming up to you and wanting some action. Brothers I would like to ask you few things, is it necessary that Pakistanis and Indians should be enemies if they can’t friends? Why can’t we just stay neutral if is it so hard to be friends with Indians? Is there any necessity to bash India and will u be able to prove your point by doing it? Why do we have to keep so much hatred inside us, why can’t we just rinse it off? As there is saying in Urdu, “Jal jal ke kabab hone se acha hai ke khil khil ke ghullab ho jao”. My point is that it won’t do them any harm but we will only waste our own energy and time, rather than making use of our time and energy to help Pakistan and our fellow people.
