All you do is
1- choose your location
2- set your tripod
3- set your camera on a panoramic setting
4- move horizontallly or vertically , i moves Horz. for the picture above and keep taking pictures
5- after taking between two and 10 pictures you upload them onto the computer and begine steching them together
I have a canon 20D , got it for around 1700 US

I think that blue glass bldg in the middle is "falcon gallery" building right? to the right of baynona tower and "All Prints"? We used to live there when i was in abudhabi!

Isn't that the baynona tower? the blue bldg with white domes. Or it used to be called that before ... it was the tallest building in abudhabi at one point. and they had a swimming pool on one of the top floors where i went for my swimming classes!

I used to do that, without a tripod.
Canon 20D is sweet no doubt. Over priced in the Emirates though. Got the entire kit I presume?

You know if you moved about 10-20 meters to the right, you would have captured the 2 Etisalat towers as well!

Raptor, Dosadeel is correct it is Baynunah Tower and later called Hilton Baynunah Residence. At the time of construction mid no's it was the highest building in Abu Dhabi 150 meters and was built by Six Construct.
Hilton hotel is about 250 meters from Baynunah Tower and has a beautiful club called Hiltonia ! The Hemingways of Hilton has the only Jazz Bar of Abu Dhabi !

adia HO- 185M
NBAD Tower - 175 m
Baynuna - 165m
Etisalat towers - 160m
how i wish Abu Dhabi had a decent library, cricket/soccer field, or museum instead of some of these buildings.
One doesnt become a first world country through skyscrapers and hotels alone...

thanx for posting the pic ....
i always liked abu dhabi more than dubai ....
dubai is good for shopping and stuff .. but for plain living .... abu dhabi is just like islamabad to me ... too bad that i had to move out ... back to pakistan ...
i used to work for ADIA and there was a strange story about the height of our new office ...
that it was supposed to be taller than the Baynona tower but the Sheikh didnt like that and ordered it to be reduced in height a bit ...
so form initial 38 floors ... its now 34 floors ... (unless this story is incorrect ... lol ADIA Gossip ?? lol) i duno ... !
good to move out before the office moved ... there werent any decent residence buildings (for the budget we had ) near it ... no parking space either ..

Its also taller than Baynuna. That said, it looks awful, the glasses look perenially dusty, the structure looks crooked, and the color isnt paricularly pleasing.
The most aesthetic building in abu dhabi is the NBAD Tower.
Also, agree that auh is much better than dubai to live in. If you want malls, and shopping yu can always drive to Dubai on a weekend, but abu dhabi is more family oriented and peaceful

Jealousy usually does play a big part in a naive opinion. UAE is one of the arab countrys that has done very well when it comes to investment and building a country. When people like you see iraq they complain about arabs fighting ,then when you see UAE all done up yet you still complain and are never happy. Why dont you read some before posting BS.

The UAE has done the best job among the Gulf countries of utilising its oil income and providing a country with
1) An very low crime rate
2) An excellent transportation and electricity infrastructure.
However, there are many many issues still to be addressed. I have seen its common for those expats enjoying the oil wealth to shut their eyes and keep harping about just how great Dubai is with its skyscrapers.
There are things like endemic racism, & extremely lopsided justice. Every few days a labourer gets lashed 100 times for adultery, while rarely has a Westerner been punished for similar acts.
Apart from that, its weird that prostitution is widely ignored in Dubai while "carpooling" is labelled a crime. Why? because it deprives govrnment owned taxis of income.
The UAE has done a great job so far, but theres a long way to go before one can call it a first world country.
