What do you guys think? Any chance that Pakistan will get any ICBMs in the future?   By the way, ICBMs must have a range of 8,000 kilometres or more to be classified as an ICBM.

When Pakistan has already completed building an indigenous ICBM .  Anyway, i predict that Pakistan is currently secretly developing an ICBM without USA's knowledge. They want to show the world that Iran is not the only Islamic country that has ICBMs in the future.

If Pakistan doesn't testfire it, then how will they know that it will work? Testfiring ICBMs can determine its accuracy, range, speed, effectiveness, and to evaluate its' overall performance to ensure that it is worthy of entering service.

u right pakistan is laready on the move ...becos if you remember few months back president has announced on the TV that we are about to test fire a new long range missile....but that never happened.. technicalities may be politics ? Allah knows ...............

Then what will the USA's response be if Pakistan gets ICBMs? Will the US impose economic sanctions on Pakistan?

Other than Israel, we don't have a real enemy. so I guess that we don't really need ICBMs. Our non conventional missiles are well capable of hitting Tel aviv if ever needed. But I don't think that we will have a direct conflict with Israel

Nope... It can't be cruise missile technology for even Chinese have not mastered it (they depend to an extent on Russia) and Pakistan for the last 2 years has not had Ramjet technology under development - or atleast the same has not been mentioned anywhere on any of the forums.

But then Pakistani scientists and engineers are quite credible and result-oriented so GOD knows what they have up their sleeves this time.

Pakistan in the first place should consider testing various stages if not full blown up missiles in order to proceed towards achieving a ICBM type of range. First of all the missile lengh will be the limiting factor and they will have to shift towards a thicker rocket motor around 1.8-2m. Once that has been validated the same stage seperation copuled with validated rocket motor and proven guidance can achieve the required range even without actually testing the missile, but then again will that be enough to convince the armed forces!! dunno

As far as I know Pakistan has already test fired 3 stage Shaheen missile, and according to my source who work in that particular organization that when we can use 3 stage successfully,we can use much more then that , But right now the focus of the organization is on short range missiles to target enemy that is at close distance. But it is confirmed that the work on that project is still on. As there is a rumour that Suparco will be given under the umbrella of Nescom, If that happens then that will give us a better peaceful way to test ICBM by launching a satellite in Geo stationary orbit and NESCOM is constructing SLV for suparco.

Although there are many advantages of having ICBMs in inventory but I dont think we are in "Dire Need" because first look at the future wars! all wars are going on around Pakistan and our all enemies are in the range of 2000-3000km of Pakistan. we must have to concentrate on the using new technologies in conventional wars between the two countries that includes Air,land and Sea forces. So as there is no aggressive stance of Pakistan, So it makes it clear that we are not going to attack any one, but we will defend ourselves. So ICBMs are purely for aggressive strategies and for the enemies at long distance obviously. Now look at the practical scenario , who are our enemies? INDIA,US and lets add ISRAEL although we don't have any direct conflicts. Israel and india are in our missile range. I think if we fire our longest ranged missile from the border of Iran-Baluchistan , we may hit Tel Aviv  (personally am not 100% sure about that) and As long as US is concerned they will attack us from Afghanistan which is our neighbour. And let say if we fire our ICBM and target "United States" they will shot that down because the have missile defence shield and you know aggressive action against the super power is impossible for small and poor country like Pakistan. We cant afford that at because we are having one of the weakest economies in the world and corrupt leadership. So I don't think ICBM is going to give any massive advantage really. But we really need SLV's to launch our Satellites both civilian and military for the better future of our country. I think we should concentrate on the advancement in Space program.

Indians selected a better time to test their ICBM we simply don,t have any ''tapar'' left for time being and later we won,t be able to stand international pressure though long range drone can be good substitute for ICBM but their is no harm in multiplying delivery of deterrence

I hope the Tipu and Taimur ICBMs are not just rumors and are actually in development

Whether or not the Agni V is an "ICBM", a 70s obsolete missile or whatever it is still a serious threat to Pakistan (despite the fact that India could already hit Pak with its missiles) and proof that we are falling behind the arms race.

We also need to rapidly develop our missile defense systems

The neighbour has informed India that it plans to conduct a long-range missile test in the Indian Ocean over the next five days.

I hope they develop it quick but don't actually test it. Maybe some sort of a dry or simulated test should be fine.

We have enough issues at home to deal with.
