Yaar, i miss Pakistan so much. the northern areas is the most beautiful place on earth. shangrila lake is so serene. i remember as a child i almost walked onto the lake from the pier b/c it looked like glass. just beautiful. the water from hunza is the sweetest in the world.
all this and still no mass tourism. it pisses me off. our jahil leaders/public don't realize (or just won't do anything) the potential in this. goras will love it

has any one seen the movie "vertical limits" its a great movie wich was shot over K2 and by the way BEAUTIFUL PICS YAAR

Bala Hisar Fort is of ancient origin, but the building we see today was constructed by the Sikhs in 1834 and modified during the British occupation. which commended in 1849. The fort which the Emperor Babur built in 1530 was destroyed when Ranjit Singh captured the city in 1818. His Sikh army burned most of the Old City to the ground. During the 30 years of Sikh rule the population of Peshawar was halved.

Bala Hisar Fort
The fort has been the Headquarter of the Frontier Corps since 1947, and can now be visited at weekends. Highlights include the changing of the Guard which takes place 10 minutes before sunset. There is also a very interesting Regimental Museum, which examines the history of military life in the Frontier.
