Interesting bit is the army Chief helping finance the deal for AF.
Its never the machine but the MAN itself.

PAF really needs to clarify this, way too much confusion plus no new pictures of the Erieye in ages. Infact new PAF pictures are all hard to come by, they are relying way too much on photoshop now.

We have only 1 Eriye operational (some say 2), and another replacement on order with Saab.

I found some thing very intersting these all SAAB 2000 which are converted to AWACS are used machines and these are all manufactured as civilian planes therefore they must have to be registered with international registration authorities for air traffic control and collision avoidance.

http://www.planespot...ountry/Pakistan
Their databases are showing all five awacs as active while this one shows one is stored
http://www.airfleets...kistan Gvmt.htm
by above data we can conclude that no Erieye is damaged beyond repair as none is shown scraped or decommission the store one is the one which is damaged . Furthermore PAF signed 170 million dollar contract for the supply of spares. SAAB are primarly made for civilian purposes and 170 million for two AWACS is sky high. I beleve we have more then two awacs operational

at faisal base, the P3C's were out in the open and by independent jounalist photos of the wreckage, anyone could make out the exact loss.
that did not happen at mehran, where the Erieye's(?) were struck inside hangars and PAF was / is very quiet about this,
what we do know is from inside sources and that too is open for interpretation
what matters is that PAF base security protocols were lax and there were prior warnings / intelligence given to them that TTP / insurgent group are planning to strike EW assets . these warnings were mostly ignored and we paid the ultimate price

Nothing was destroyed at faisal as its an PAF base P3Cs are destroyed at PNS Mehran and its Minhas where Erieye was supposedly destroyed. Its all messed up by extra qualified media and Einstein caliber journalists who know every thing except the grades which they obtain before getting in to this field.

faisal and mehran are basically combined facilities, yes, my mistake, erieyes were hit at minhas ( roza is getting to me )
however, just because faisal was left alone doesnt mean PAF had to be given any credit, the insurgents did not consider a few PAF VIP and C 130 a/c worth a target( also parked in the open ) and proceeded to mehran to hit the P3C's

Secondly, collision avoidance has nothing to do with registration.
Collision avoidance is done through Secondary Radar, Transponder, TCAS and now-a-days by ADS-B.
Registering an aircraft with the civil aviation authorities has nothing to do with collision avoidance.

I will appreciate if you don’t use words like this "CHal jigar"
Collision avoidance is done through Secondary Radar, Transponder, TCAS and now-a-days by ADS-B.
These are technologies not authorities and I can not do any thing if they "authorities" are called like what they are called so make it simple we have to register cars before hitting the road so airplanes must have to be registered somewhere before any one can fly them.
CAn't believe we are still fretting about this issue after what, 1 year?
ACM is still fretting about this issue after one year because its too excruciating to loose an awacs on ground and if we had lose multiple ones then we are the only nation who had achieved such a milestone that’s why the wound is still open and it will never heal.

This is not a word for word quote... more like writers assumption on the issue... but till the time something shows up in black and white.. we can not be sure..
