The bilateral exercise between Pakistani and Chinese naval forces concluded at the North Arabian Sea on Wednesday.
The first of the series of bilateral naval exercises provided a good opportunity to both the navies to learn from each other’s experiences, enhance interoperability and refine the tactical doctrines, said a press release of the Pakistan Navy.
The exercise participated by ships, aircraft and special forces of the two navies was divided into harbour and sea phases. The hard core sea phase included serials designed to refine warfare tactics practicing command and control procedures and combating asymmetric threats.
“Both Pakistan and Chinese navies enjoy unprecedented friendly and cordial relations based on mutual trust. The deep rooted naval collaboration has become even more important in present time where combined naval operations are becoming a bastion for stability in maritime arena.
“In this backdrop holding of bilateral naval exercise is being viewed as manifestation of mutual resolve to further enhance bilateral cooperation between the two navies. This historic exercise has laid a solid foundation for further cooperation in defence matters particularly relating to maritime affairs in the years to come,” it said.
