PIA All the way, Always have pleasant journey, plenty of tasty food and refreshments and plenty of fellow idiots Pakistani who when board on airplane goes back to jahil chaval nature.
As Felicius Said dont take a word from others try & see your self, when going to Pakistan or travelling by PIA please act & treat yourself , staff and fellow passenger as you treat them while travelling Emirates / British Airways etc...... U will Love PIA

Compare this post of yours to your very first here in this thread and notice the contrast; travelling in PIA is the only way to evaluate it. Do not listen to idiots who defame PIA on word of mouth and haven't themselves traveled on PIA for ages.
The pilots are very experienced and professional as well.
I have flown only once in pia and the complain i had is no different than what i hear from people using all other carrier. But I guess cause it happened in PIA so lets just zaleel it because u know "ghar ke murghi daal barabar".
Air hostess were very nice. Food was ok (and then it turns out that every airline suck at that and there is a scientific reason behind it).
Plane was nice and clean and frankly more than enough leg room. (they had the same video going on 3 hour cycle though......hahahaha...........). oh and smoking class...........................loved it. most of the plane was empty so i came lying down on middle row.....hehehehe
Now the real fun part................... i was looking out of window when we landed in frankfurt airport..............I swear to god even when i was looking outside the window i couldnt tell when we touched down. No complain about the travel whatsoever.
And people get real..................
All lines give shitty food compare to the restaurants (and most of them give shitty food too. you just dont wanna admit it)
Hostesses on other lines can have shitty attitude too. You just have to be at the right place on the right time. look it up................ the net is full of stories.
Maintenance of planes is no worst than others..............again look it up on the horrible stories.

LAHORE: The Dubai International Airport authorities have issued back to back warnings to the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) over its failure to adhere to time slot allocated to it and the practice of changing aircraft without intimation.
The airport authorities told the PIA in a letter that it was not observing the time slot. “It has failed to follow the correct procedure to update slots.
This is deemed as misuse of the slots. We are adopting zero tolerance to such misuse,” it said.
The authorities said the letter should be considered a second warning. “If any further violation of this nature occurs, a fine may be imposed on the PIA.”
A source in the PIA said that delay in its flights often caused problems with regard to observing the time. “This issue is not only related to Dubai but also to several European airports. Jeddah airport is another place where time slot issue crops up every now and then,” he said.
The national-flag carrier was facing the problem primarily because of shortage of planes, he said. “Unless the PIA gets more planes, this issue will not be solved.”
Before issuing the warning on the time slot misuse, the Dubai airport authorities have warned the PIA to inform it before any change of aircraft scheduled to land there.
“On several occasions, the PIA did not bother to inform the airport authorities about the change of aircraft,” the source said. He attributed this to lack of proper communication among different departments of the PIA.
PIA spokesperson Mashhood Tajwar told Dawn that a reply had been sent to the Dubai airport authorities and claimed that both issues had been resolved.
Meanwhile, the PIA has started operating its 30 flights to Dubai after completion of extension of its airport. The PIA had been diverting most of its Dubai-bound flights to Sharjah over the past two months because of extension work of the airport.

You know the main reason for that is you and me and all Pakistani , when they get the boarding pass, we know they (PIA) will not fly and leave us back , so we freely roam around in duty free shop and let them announcing for passengers , also we buy lots of stuff last min for whole family ,which dont fit in Airplane cabin, and end up fighting with crew these are the major reason of late flight take off and like that many other thing there is no deliberate PIA action to delay .... PIA should leave the passenger like other airlines .....

I have been 100% on time.....because i am a responsible person 
But yaar according to the article they are stating the specific reason which is the shortage of planes. Not the passengers this time.

Flag carrier running on only 19 planes: PIA chairman
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), the country national flag carrier, is currently operating with just 19 airworthy planes out of a total fleet of 34 and needs new aircraft to survive, PIA chairman Muhammad Ali Gardezi told the Senate Standing Committee on Rules, Procedures and Privileges on Wednesday.
“We are doing our best to keep the organisation buoyant. Three new Airbus 320 aircraft are being inducted into the existing fleet. One is already here, the other will arrive in a few days and a third in October,” said the PIA chairman, who is also the Aviation Division’s federal secretary.
4 airlines refuse to lease aircraft to PIA
The matter came up after the committee spent over an hour and a half in discussing why Senator Shirala Mallick’s flight was delayed 30 minutes from Islamabad to Karachi, allegedly forcing her to miss a meeting. She urged the chair of the committee to compensate her; however, her request was politely declined.
In April, during a session of the Senate, Ms Mallick had moved a privilege motion regarding the behaviour of PIA officials. The senator alleged that the staff in Rawal Lounge at the Islamabad airport was inefficient.

The problems of PIA were not on the agenda, but when the senators shared their unpleasant experiences PIA Chairman Muhammad Ali Gardezi defended the organisation by explaining that the national flag carrier was struggling to sustain itself.
Four out of six twin-engine propeller ATRs, five Airbus 310s, eight Boeing 777s and one Airbus 320 are operational, Gardezi told the members, adding, “We need a minimum of 34 aircraft flying all the time. We can do better, because we have lucrative routes. We are desperately trying to induct new airplanes.”
While calling to revamp PIA’s engineering department, Committee Chairman Senator retired Colonel Syed Tahir Hussain Mashhadi urged the PIA chief to ground all the 747 Jumbo Jet aircraft, before any accident takes place, which he believed had outlived their operational lives.
However, Gardezi explained how the PIA’s engineering department could make the three 747s fly for another year, after necessary overhauling of the aircraft.
One of the 747s was already made operational and was being utilised by airline.
He explained how the organisation believed that the aircraft has four engines and could fly with even two in an emergency situation. Nonetheless, the jumbo jets would be scrapped after the new planes are inducted into the fleet, which would take approximately a year.
“However, we have grounded two 737 airplanes that have completed their flying hours, spread over 25 to 26 years,” he said, explaining how PIA was now going to scrap these planes.
He also told the meeting that PIA was negotiating with European companies to induct five more twin-engine propeller ATRs and a new Boeing 737 aircraft, to accommodate passengers on local routes.
“The prime minister has given the go-ahead to acquire five Boeing 777 aircraft that got delayed because of a controversial agreement between PIA and Boeing Company. The government has made the $100 million down payments for these aircraft, but does not have sufficient funds to make additional payments,” said Gardezi, explaining the details of the $1.5 billion ‘flawed’ deal to acquire these planes.
Members also believed that private airlines should also be engaged to fly domestic and far-flung destinations, to lessen the load on PIA, a possibility that Muhammad Ali Gardezi would be looking into.

Keep selling routes to "brother" Turkey and UAE, finance companies will say these guys don't have a clue what they are doing. If that is part of our business plan who in their right mind will finance us? No bank wants to lose money because of brother this and that.

I returned back from Pakistan on saturday with PIA.
- PIA cabine personell were proffesionel and very gentle in their manner and approach.
- They served water to passengers when passengers sat on their seats.
- A little girl became ill so the personell contacted the doctor working at ISB airport thus the airplane became late. Luckily she was cleared to go.
- Food tasted great, the air hostesses came 2 minutes after giving beverages with the food.
- A child was running in the aisle while an air hostess was talking to a passenger. She didnt see the child, suddenly she walked towards the child and the poor child bumped into her and cried out loud. The air hostess instantly grabbed and lifted the child and sad "sorry betaa"... thus apologising not to the child but also to the mother, even if it wasnt her fault. The mother just smiled and said it wasnt her fault.
I respect this kind of manner and was happy thinking PIA has seriously changed.
From a financial point of view, Turkish Airlines, Emirates Airlines and Qatar Airways are competing with PIA, now PIA must try to win its fled customers back by giving proper satisfied customer respectful service, all due to the idiotic incompetence in the management department.

That is quite an experience...thank God it was all well and good in the end.
This year has been terrible for the aviation industry...just today an Iranian aircraft crashed in a populated area shortly after taking off from Mehrabad Airport(Tehran)....heavy fatalities.
