I recently have been shown a whole new side to the history and politics of Africa. It all started when i heard a radio Interview of an African Musician who didn't refused to particicpate in the Band Aid single being released to raise money for Ebola. This was a big deal as he'd previously worked with Band Aid 30 years ago when the first song was released. His justification was that Africa was constantly being seen in a negative light and he felt he didn't want to participate in that anymore. Since then other celebrities have also come out and said similar things.
That began my reading about Africa. I think everyone should take an hour at some point and read these 4 links; it will completely change how you think of Africa, it's past, it's present and it's future.
