The Barak-II ($ 300 mn) is developed by Rafael for Indian Navy as well as Israeli Navy. Its funded by Indian Navy. And Barak-NG ($ 2.5 bn) is a different project which is a JV between DRDO and Rafale will be a 150 km SAM for both Indian Navy and InAF.
you got any real sources? I read contradicting stuff out of Indian press every 2 weeks.
all modern AAW ships have at least 48 missiles.
you gotta be kidding me that you want a missile with 80 km to be used for point defense. Point defense missiles are normally in the Barak-1 range and size. That's why it makes absolutely not sense to have both Barak-II and NG.
Which additional systems i mentioned? Every modern IN ships has a CIWS and for that purpose AK-630M isn't enough. The listed weapons are not as per with IN specifications. And as you thought its not the final weapon systems.
Kashtan, clearly you were adding extra stuff to your argument. Why don't you get some other evidence on Barak-NG first and then we will talk about it. Until then, Barak-II is used.
That's Russian. What have the Indians developed by themselves?
do you have any idea how much changes will need to be made for this? Don't state mysterious sources.
Type 730 + AK-176M provides far better air defense than 4 AK-630 can or 2 Kashtan for that matter. Tracking of low supersonic sea-skimmers exist on 054A which can't be found on any IN ships as we speak. You can't engage AShM from 70 km away with Barak-II. Please read up on how naval engagement works.
