1. During the days leading upto tests propaganda was really picked up. 2 militants posing themselves as Baloch Liberators (neighbouring country sponsored) hijacked a PIA plane from Quetta. Their demand was to protest the nuclear test on Baloch soil. They ordered the plane to be taken to Ahmedabad India. Pilot who was Ex-PAF, landed the plane on Hyderabad Airport and told them that it was Ahmedabad. SSG commandos raided the plane and even before they blink eye both were shot in the head, Unfortunately a bullet from falling terrorist martyred our SSG officer.
2. These sites were selected and prepared as early as 1984 for the same purpose.
3. Ch. Nisar and Sartaj Aziz was strongly opposing tests, while Nawaz Sharif was also in favor of taking US Aid package. In a meeting with leading journalists, Majeed Nizami (Nawai-e-Waqt editor) said to Nawaz, that mood on the ground is very charged up. Mr. PM if you dont explode the devices people will explode you.
4. In a last moment meeting NESCOM engineers told PM that even if we want to abandon we cant as we have plugged all tunnels with concrete.
5. Seeing that Nuclear test are inevitable, Nawaz government go ahead with plan-B. They decided to take maximum political advantage by taking all credit of going nuclear. They also take out all the money from banks outside and freeze all foreign currency accounts. Many analysts claim that this was the biggest hit to our economy after Bhutto nationalization.
5. Only 28th may tests were recorded but 30th may second round tests normally went nu-noticed. The fact is that on 30th May Pakistan testes a nuclear weapon rather then a device. That was a separate site from this one. It was also a vertical well like structure, L shaped. 1000m or so deep.
I really salute the guys who were able to dig up those tests sites in such rough train without even coming to notice of powerful intelligence agencies.

When was it that India attacked Pakistan? Pakistan initiates wars, loses, and then cries over India's hegemony. Your country has fiadayeen tendencies which pushes it to start wars with a country many times its size and capabilities. What are your country's achievements thus far: Nuclear bomb, missiles...anything constructive or for the betterment of the country???

That's actually genuinely funny. Stop trolling in this topic. It's been a long time since we banned someone, don't be the next. If you have a relevant contribution to make, go ahead.

Greenberet what type of assignments were related to 6th armoured division in Kharian?
And what are the assignments related to it now?
Peace
... in simple words, this division is tasked to grind its way through heavy indian defences and achieve its objective which, though not that far in distance, is heavily protected.....moreover it can also act as a counter attack force if anything happens in general area from jhelum river till ravi.....
the mov from kharian to Gujranwala means it will have one less river to cross towards its battle positions....

Dilchasp baat hai
I remember in 2002 when Vajpayee brang Indian forces to the border and in Kharian, there were deployed missiles (rumour say back then it was Ghauri or Hatf) the surrounding villages close by Kharian Cantt... in our inheritaged land, we had of number of 50 Pak Jawaan with few missiles which was deployed by Pak Fauj. No one was allowed near them but the major researched the owners of our land, thus informed my grandmother by visiting our home, that Pak Fauj had come under such circumstances and had no intentions of seizing our fields but gave a promise that our agricultural income and cattles would remain safe. This quality gesture is highly respected by average Pakistanis because the Jawaans are humble when reaching out for public support. Further information is that the major gave his words that my family members could give food milk water and blankets to the Jawaans as it was winter that time. Since Pak Jawaans don't want any poisoned food especially when it is vital for the forces to defend the country and only get nutritions from the army itself... (my hearts duaa is may the people of Pakistan serve Pak Fauj with outmost humble respect as the high levelled star bearing officers have ruined a lot...)
Anyways what about the geographical attacks the division can encounter if the railway lines or roads are destroyed by lets say air attacks as the battle tanks have to be deployed along with the troops.
Or the bridges by Chenab River and Jhelum are destroyed how will equipments soldiers troops and the division cover their responsible areas?
Peace

this is where our assault and mechanized engineer battalions come in, its their task to bridge all water obstacles....they keep on rehearsing all these contingencies including all bridges getting destroyed.
