Now about 25% of national assembly members are women. There is one thing which keep confusing me is that through which system they were selected as members of the national assembly. The same thing goes for the members from ethnic minorties.

In democracy, 'a member should be elected by the people of his constituency'.

It doesn't happen in any democratic country where a member is installed instead of being elected through the voting proccess.

No wonder our national assembly's creditability is nil.

Is there anybody here knows what are actually these women doing while sat on national assembly's seats? Have they offered any help to the people they were selected for? Are they atleast verbally active when a session is held? What good have they done for the women of Pakistan and do they know the broblems of common women of Pakistan. Do the common women know that they have their representatives in the national assembly? Do the members have any plan to improve the general welfare situation of Pakistani women?

I haven't read anything about these selected women of our national assembly in the national or international press, never ever? They seem nothing more than the ghosts of national assembly who are there to waste the revenue, time and space of the assembly hall.
